As we become start making our way in the world, one of the things we often yearn for is having our own home. When we think of what we would like that home to be and look like, our minds often take flights of fancy and we truly start to dream. We might look through magazines at beautiful houses, or go to open homes to see some spectacular local properties. The features and design elements that appeal to us go on our checklist of desires. Then, perhaps after we have started saving up for the down payment, we decide to begin our quest for the perfect place for us. We will look for neighbourhoods with visual appeal and a variety of interesting restaurants, bars and nightlife. If we have children or plan on adding to the family soon, we’ll also check out schools to see which ones would be best.
